Our Slept On series of posts highlight folks/albums/songs we feel don't get enough credit--obviously.  Some of the posts might feature folks/albums/songs that get plenty of respect in certain circles, but on the grand scale of things, they deserve more recognition.  DJ Toomp falls in this category.

We caught DJ Toomp at this year's Red Bull Big Tune, SF.  He killed it, of course.  But we couldn't help but to notice the majority of the crowd didn't know who he was, and they also didn't realize he produced many of the biggest rap hits of the past decade.  Well, now they know, and rightfully so.  The man's catalog is deep, impressive, and classic.

Furthermore, a lotta folks don't realize how long he's been in the game.  DJ Toomp is an OG, and yes, he really can DJ.  Check the vids above, and peep his discography.
